Then…and now.
Forces shaping Morse’s Senate recall are a microcosm of today’s dysfunction, disinformation, and misinformation.

Morse reflects on then…and now:
“As you may remember, I became the first (and to date only) state Senate President in the nation recalled from office in 2013 after leading the effort to pass five Colorado gun safety laws following the tragic Aurora movie theater shooting in July 2012. I got recalled for those efforts, but am proud to say the laws didn’t. Now, more than a decade later, with a more retrospective view, I’m ready to tell the full story about that time and share insights about how what happened then is a microcosm of the malaise in the US today. I see unchecked corruption systemically destroying our nation, allowed in large part by voter apathy. It’s time to wake up and work for positive, productive change. That starts with thoughtful voting and getting civically engaged at any level possible.” |
